At TexhomaGSD we take great pride in breeding and raising healthy, well-socialized puppies. We are committed to ensuring that your new puppy is in excellent health at the time of adoption. To give you peace of mind, we offer the following Health Guarantee:
1. General Health Guarantee
We guarantee that your puppy is in good health at the time of pickup. Each puppy will receive:
- A thorough veterinary check-up
- Age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming
- A health record with all medical treatments provided
You are encouraged to have your puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of pickup. If your vet finds a serious health issue (excluding common conditions such as parasites or treatable infections), you may return the puppy for a full refund or exchange.
2. Genetic Health Guarantee
We guarantee our puppies to be free from life-threatening hereditary conditions for 24 months from their date of birth. Covered conditions include:
- Hip & Elbow Dysplasia (as diagnosed by OFA or PennHIP)
- Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) (if parents were not tested)
- Any other severe genetic disorder that affects the puppy’s quality of life
If a genetic condition is diagnosed within the guarantee period, we offer the following options:
- A replacement puppy (when available)
- A refund of 50% of the purchase price if you choose to keep the puppy
3. Conditions of the Guarantee
This guarantee is valid only if the following conditions are met:
- The puppy receives routine veterinary care, including vaccinations and parasite prevention.
- The puppy maintains a proper diet and is not subjected to excessive exercise before 12 months of age.
- The puppy is not used for breeding unless health testing has been performed.
- The puppy is not neglected, abused, or involved in activities that could cause injury.
4. Exclusions
This guarantee does not cover:
- Common puppy ailments such as worms, giardia, or coccidia
- Injuries, accidents, or illnesses caused by improper care
- Any condition related to environmental factors, nutrition, or owner negligence
